A transfer moves a domain you already own from another provider. It also adds one year to the registration.
- At your current provider, turn off the transfer lock (sometimes called registrar lock).
- Ask them for the authorization code (also called EPP code or auth code).
- Open Transfer a domain, enter the domain and the code, and add it to your cart.
- After payment, approve the confirmation email sent to the domain owner address.
Most transfers finish in 5 to 7 days. A domain cannot be transferred within 60 days of registration or a previous transfer.
